Domaine de CHAMBORD

Working on a place like Chambord isn’t just about restoration—it’s about entering into a dialogue with a remarkable past. Every wall, stair, and stretch of water tells a story, and any new project here has to take those stories into account. That’s why recent work on the Aile François I, the moats, and fire safety systems wasn’t just about modernizing—it was about understanding.

The team approached these projects with a clear goal: make Chambord safer, more welcoming, and structurally sound, all while respecting what makes it so unique. That meant diving into the château’s history, studying its layers, and figuring out how to bring in today’s standards without disturbing what’s already there. Whether reinforcing a structure or designing ways to protect it in case of fire, the focus was always on balance—between past and present, preservation and practicality.

What’s emerged is a Chambord that feels ready for the future, without losing sight of where it came from. These updates don’t call attention to themselves—they simply help the château continue to do what it’s always done: surprise, inspire, and stand strong. The work may be technical, but the goal is simple—to keep Chambord alive and open, not just as a monument, but as a place people can truly experience.
