MAGICAMP | CONSTANTA
This project was a soul-warming experience. The story behind MAGICAMP is one of humanity and kindness. They are an association helping out the families of kids with cancer. Aside from all the necessities, they offer mental and spiritual support. This particular project was made in collaboration with a man of God, a retired Orthodox priest.
Located on a strip of land between Tabacarie Lake and a natural reservation, the pre-existing building already offered a sense of serenity. Shaped like a catholic cloister but made with the pure traditional Romanian vocabulary, and wooden materials, the place had a good vibe and strong character.
We worked on the attic, which was configured to accommodate 4 lodging units and 2 common spaces. All the spaces would be used by the families of the sick children as vacation facilities. The design is one of simplicity and comfort as not to crowd the mind but at the same time cover all the needs one would have in the given situation. There was always care for a cost-effective solution.
